Javelina XC Compete at District
For our final meet of the regular season our Javelinas competed in the District 30-4A Cross Country Championships and all our runners competed amazingly with 2 of our runners advancing to the Regional Competition.
Racing first were our Varsity Lady Javelinas and Meghan Huerta led the way for our Lady Javs finishing in 7th place followed by Relyla Rios finishing in 12th place. Also competing with the Lady Javelinas were Madison Acosta, Alina Estrada, Reyna Martinez, Nayeli Moncada, and Gabriella Roiz. Meghan Huerta will be representing our Lady Javelinas at the Regional Cross Country Meet.
In the second race of the morning our Varsity Mighty Javelinas ran an amazing race and were led by Claude Faulkenberry who finished in 3rd place, followed by Jesse Jay Ruiz in 11th place and Adrian Saucedo in 15th place. Also competing for the Mighty Javelinas was Jeremiah Moncada. Claude Faulkenberry will be representing our Mighty Javelinas at the Regional Cross Country Meet.
After our boys, our Junior Varsity Lady Javelinas raced with Kiara Roiz leading the way for our Lady Javs in 4th place followed by Alyssa Ruvalcaba in 5th place.
Javelina Cross Country would like to thank the Athletic Director David Lopéz, Athletic Trainer Revae Rivera, Javelina Athletic Staff, High School Principal Jorge Cerna, The Zavala County Sheriff’s Office, The City of Crystal City, Tavo’s Automotive (Gustavo Jimenez), Mr. & Mrs. Scott Rodriguez & Family, The CCISD Maintenance Staff, Mr. Jesse Perez, and the Zavala County Sentinel for all the support they continue to provide to our program. Our biggest thank you goes to our amazing group of parents who were always there supporting us all season long! Our season wouldn’t have been as great as it was without you.
Our 2 Regional Qualifying Javelinas will be traveling to the Regional Cross Country Meet in Corpus Christi, TX on November 9th & 10th, 2020 with races beginning at 10:00am.
